About

Before I go any further, here’s something I’d like to make clear:

I am a prostitute, a whore, a hooker, an escort, a working girl…  whatever you happen to want to call my profession, it’s meant to be the oldest.

So I intend to write about…  prostitution, the realities of working life, the everyday life of a hooker, more abstract thoughts about sex, it’s relationship to power, money, pleasure, sexual orientation…  whatever comes to mind.

At the end of the day, I will try to articulate some of this to the best of my ability.

Other, perhaps relevant facts about me:

I am married, a university graduate, identify sometimes as gay, sometimes as bisexual, I am an atheist and I live in New Zealand.

And in brief, about my work experience in this field:

I worked for several months last year in a private house which I found via a job ad on trademe.  I went in for the money, which I found to be very disappointing, and overall I hated the experience.  I left, got a job in the real world, got frustrated at having to actually work for my money, or rather lack thereof, phoned a previous contact at NZPC who found me a place to work elsewhere.  I’ve been back in the industry a little while now, finding the experience much more satisfying than last time, in more ways than one, and have begun reflecting on the differences between this time and the last, and about working in the sex industry in general.
